Even though we're taking it online, you'll still have the opportunity to engage with the startups and participate in the conversation.

Our newest cohort of startups covers 6 verticals including healthtech, clean energy, and SaaS. Collectively they've raised over S$2.4M and have already had initial commitments of ~S$1M from existing investors and our Limited Partners during the first month of the Accelerating Asia program.

Kuo-Yi Lim, Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Kuo-Yi is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Monk’s Hill Ventures, a leading early-stage venture capital firm in Southeast Asia. He is based in Singapore and is a board member of Ninja Van, Padlet, KKday, Jio Health, Horangi, Saleswhale, Finaxar and Zipmatch.

In the early 2000’s, Kuo-Yi was an early employee of Encentuate, an identity and access management software startup (acquired by IBM) and Reputation Technologies, a supplier relationship management software startup (acquired by Security Sources). In 2008, he co-Founded SportsHook, a social networking and event management SaaS startup for the sports community.

Prior to Monk’s Hill Ventures, Kuo-Yi was CEO of Infocomm Investments, a $200M venture fund based in Singapore investing in technology startups globally. At Infocomm Investments, Kuo-Yi led investments in Twilio (NYSE:TWLO), Dataxu, Quid, Gengo and other leading startups.


RJ Balmater, Senior Investment Analyst

RJ is a Senior Investment Analyst at Monk’s Hill Ventures, a leading early-stage tech venture capital firm in Southeast Asia. He is based in Indonesia and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and investment analysis and research. He covers the Indonesia and the Philippines markets.

RJ was previously a consultant at Balmater Consulting Company, where he led a small team to advise family-owned SMEs in Indonesia on good governance practices and fundraising for expansion plans.

Prior to that, he was a financial analyst at Fortman Cline Capital Markets focusing on sell-side deals in Manila. RJ holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from California State University of Fullerton (CSUF).


Natasha Gunawan, Engagement Manager

Natasha Gunawan is an Engagement Manager at Monk's Hill Ventures, a leading early-stage tech venture capital firm in Southeast Asia. Her responsibilities include deal sourcing, investment analysis and research, and growing the local startup community. She is based in Indonesia.

Prior to joining Monk's Hill Ventures, Natasha was an Associate Product manager at Traveloka, the travel tech company, where she was responsible to launch and manage features that optimize the operations and cost efficiency of the company's accommodation arm. While at Traveloka, she was also a part of the CEO Office team in the accommodation business unit, where she advised and performed due diligence on strategic and organizational matters. Before Traveloka, Natasha was a Brand Analyst at HSL Ventures, a US-based merchandise trading company, where she was responsible for retail purchase and analysis, and e-commerce strategy.

Natasha holds an Economics Degree with a minor in Accounting from UCLA.

Kinexcs supports faster recovery and delivers personalised health and fitness. The data-driven startup connects clinicians to patients, enabling evidence based recovery and quality care for musculoskeletal patients.

MyBrand is a food social marketplace that provides an integrated app-based platform for home-based culinary businesses and cloud kitchen brands reach out to a wider mass, beyond what social media and messaging apps could conventionally do.

ProjectPro is a work automation platform that helps data scientists get their projects done faster.

Shuttle is a mass-transit startup based in Bangladesh that provides safe transportation at an affordable fare by moving more people with fewer vehicles and caters to both B2B and B2C customers.

FAQs

How long will the session run for?

We should have you up and out of the event by 6.30pm Singapore time at the latest but we'll try to keep it to 1 hour, it depends on how many questions you have for our startups!

Will there be the opportunity to ask questions?

Yep, after each pitch we will facilitate a Q&A. You can add your questions to the Zoom chat and our host will answer them for you.

Do I need to have my camera on?
