iFarmer is a fintech company working on an innovative approach to farming and agriculture financing. iFarmer enables individuals and institutions to invest in farming and agriculture in a secured manner. iFarmer ensures return on investments by working closely with our farmer partners to provide them with access to support services and access to markets.
How the model works is that an individual can visit our website or download the app, select the farm they want to invest in and make the payment. We charge an upfront service fee on the investment amount. Our partner farmers receive the finance and manage the farm, where we support with input services, information and technology and at the end of the cycle helps to sell the farm produce. The profit from the sales is then shared between the farmer and in the investor, while iFarmer charges a small commission on the sales profit.
To date we have worked with 1000 farmers facilitating 300,000 USD farm finance from 150 investors. We intend to generate 7 million in Farm financing by 2022 and intend to work with 30,000 farmers
