We're hiring for a Rockstar Marketing & Community Coordinator - FILLED!

Accelerating Asia manages The Asia Accelerator, Singapore’s only independent startup accelerator program. Twice per year we accept ~10 startups into our cohort based at our shophouse space in CBD Singapore and go through our 3-month acceleration program, followed by a startup mastery course in Silicon Valley and the grand finale, Demo Day.

We work with many partners in corporate, government and other organisations around Asia and beyond to leverage each other’s resources.  The program is launching in Q1 2019 and we are looking for awesome new team members to join our lean and hard-working, but also fun atmosphere.  The team managing the program, Craig Dixon and Amra Naidoo, previously ran the muru-D accelerator program which was widely considered one of the best programs in the region.

The working environment is fast-paced but casual.  You’ll learn tons of new things as you interact with startups solving big problems with cutting-edge technology.  We also host a ton of events so you’ll meet amazing people from various backgrounds in investment, startups, corporate and government.  We have an open floor plan and you’ll be sitting with our team and the thirty or so startup founders most of the time.

Things we look for in potential team members:

  • No BS

  • Pay it forward approach

  • Get shit done

  • Work hard play hard

  • Be incredibly useful

  • Positive outlook (but productive scepticism encouraged)

  • An appreciation for punny puns

We offer competitive remuneration and medical insurance.

Role:  Marketing and Community Coordinator

You are a great communicator and connector.  You will work closely with the Operations & Partnerships Director and be responsible for our social media accounts, event communication & publicity, internal and external communication channels.  You’ll also coordinate with other team members on events big and small. You understand and love startups and want to be immersed in the world’s fastest growing startup ecosystem. As the marketing coordinator, you are the main protector of our brand. So, you’ll also make sure that all our t-shirts, flyers and other collateral are on point. You’ll manage remote designers and PR agencies so project management skills and good communication are a must. As community coordinator you’ll attend events in Singapore and beyond and represent our brand and as the point person for many of our most important stakeholders in the community, we’re looking for someone who is not afraid to take the initiative and show us your leadership potential.

Other:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Show some experience or interest in the startup space

  • Able to effectively operate under stress and manage multiple projects on the go

  • Show some experience or interest in managing social media, websites, CRMs, email marketing platforms, writing content, and/or design that would be a bonus!

  • We offer a flexible work environment but you will be working in the evening to attend events and once in a while on weekends.

  • Travel: 50% of the week for 5 weeks twice per year (regional) and two 1-week trips to the USA per year.

This is a junior role on the team so new grads and individuals with less than 3 years’ experience are encouraged to apply! Be prepared to hit the ground running and absorb everything like a sponge. This will be a challenging work environment and you will be encouraged to try new things, learn, fail and iterate. Opportunities for career advancement are available.

Think you’ve got what it takes?

Applications will be received on an ongoing basis until each role is filled. To apply for this role please submit a copy of your resume and a short paragraph telling us why you’re the best person for the job by email to hello@acceleratingasia.com
