About Accelerating Asia

Accelerating Asia is a Singapore based venture capital fund and award-winning startup accelerator. At Accelerating Asia we are driven by helping people succeed. We work with our partners and startups to unlock potential and deliver high impact solutions by providing access to the tools, resources, and networks to accelerate growth.

Our flagship program targets pre-series A startups and the venture capital fund invests in high-potential, high-growth enterprises to take them to the next level. Through strategic partnerships with multinationals, governments, development organisations and education institutions, we support better engagement with startups and more effective implementation of new technologies. At the core of the work we do is the guiding belief that entrepreneurs are humanity’s greatest catalysts for positive change.

About The Role

We are looking for a Program Intern who can take on a diverse set of responsibilities within the team. The role suits a new grad or student looking to launch a career in startups. You will support program operations, community management, and stakeholder engagement for an accelerator program. Operational tasks include planning and executing events such as our weekly open houses or our mentor events, coordinating with the team and startups on the program curriculum, and helping to organize an international immersion trip for the startups to San Francisco (which you are eligible to go on!).

Administrative tasks are also a cornerstone of this role. We’ll depend on you to take meeting minutes, organise Visa invitations for the startups, manage our database of contacts, and more. Help us keep the wheels turning!

Successful completion of a full-time three-month internship makes you eligible for a full-time role with Accelerating Asia.

What We Look For

We’re looking for someone who is a fast learner, can take initiative, and work autonomously. A great candidate wants to learn about and from startups and is eager to be immersed in one of the world’s fastest growing startup ecosystems.

We also look for:

  • A strong educational background. You’ve either earned or are close to earning a University degree.

  • A proven interest in entrepreneurship and startups (such as via the books you’ve read, events you’ve led or attended, or the subjects you’ve studied or are studying at school, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English). We have a direct way of communicating in the office. The ability to ask for help when you need it and to advocate for yourself and your work is essential.

  • Ability to effectively operate under stress and manage multiple projects on the go. We operate at a fast pace and the status quo changes quickly. We’re looking for a candidate who can thrive in our environment.

  • A positive, can-do attitude. We love to work with friendly, energetic people.

  • Travel: Open and able to travel for work in order to lead events and support operations.

What We Offer

We offer a flexible and casual work environment. Be prepared to join evening events as well as work on the weekends under special circumstances. Expect to learn new things everyday as you interact with startups solving big problems with cutting-edge technology. We also host many events so you’ll meet amazing people from various backgrounds and learn directly from the myriad of workshops and masterclasses that we put on.

Be prepared to hit the ground running and absorb everything like a sponge. This will be a challenging work environment and you will be encouraged to try new things, learn, fail, and iterate. We offer competitive remuneration.
